LAUREN AMBROSE
Two-time Emmy, Tony and Grammy nominated actress and singer, LAUREN AMBROSE, is widely recognized as one of the most versatile artists in the industry. She can currently be seen starring in season three of M. Night Shyamalan’s psychological, thriller series Servant streaming on Apple TV+ currently in production on its fourth and final season. Ambrose received a Critics Choice nomination in March for her emotional and powerful performance as Dorothy, a mother coping with the trauma of losing her newborn baby. No stranger to the small screen, Ambrose has been long recognized for her work as Claire Fisher on HBO’s Six Feet Under which earned her two Primetime Emmy Award nominations. The series also won the Screen Actors Guild Award for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Drama Series in 2002, 2003 and 2004. Other TV credits include The X-Files, Torchwood, Dig, and Law & Order.
On stage Ambrose recently garnered critical acclaim, winning the 2018 Outer Critics Circle Award for Outstanding Actress in a Musical and receiving nominations at the Tony Awards and the Drama League Awards for her portrayal of the iconic Eliza Doolittle in the Lincoln Center Theater’s production of My Fair Lady at the Vivian Beaumont Theater under director Bartlett Sher. She also received her first Grammy nomination for Best Musical Theater Album. Prior to, Ambrose starred as Queen Marie opposite Susan Sarandon in Broadway’s Exit the King. In 2007 Ambrose made her first first appearance in Shakespeare in the Park starring as Juliet in The Public Theater’s production of Romeo and Juliet which earned her a Drama League Award nomination. She returned the following year to take on the role of Ophelia in Hamlet and received rave reviews. In 2006 Ambrose made her Broadway debut in Lincoln Center Theater’s Awake and Sing! winning a Drama Desk Award for Outstanding Ensemble Performance and Best Revival of a Play at the 2006 Tony Awards.
On the film side, Ambrose credits include Spike Jonze’s Where the Wild Things Are, Wanderlust opposite Paul Rudd and Jennifer Anniston, Think of Me (Independent Spirit Award nomination), The Other Woman alongside Natalie Portman, HBO’s A Dog Year with Jeff Bridges, Metro Goldwyn’s Cold Souls opposite Paul Giamatti, Diggers starring opposite Paul Rudd and Maura Tierney, Columbia Pictures Can’t Hardly Wait, and Paramount Pictures award winning In & Out with Kevin Kline and Joan Cusack.
