CBS has revealed all 17 Houseguests competing on Big Brother Season 28: There are 14 first-time players, and three surprise Houseguests. Episodes from the new season, with host Julie Chen Moonves, are now streaming on Paramount+.
The Season 28 cast includes several reality show competition players: two Survivor contestants, a former Big Brother player, and a RuPaul’s Drag Race drag queen. There’s also a bartender, MMA fighter, rocket scientist, attorney, game-show host, telemedicine executive, elementary school counselor, financial analyst, and more. They’ll compete this summer for the show’s $750,000 grand prize.
Who is in the Big Brother Season 28 cast?
CBS announced 14 Houseguests during the Big Brother “Broveal” on July 7. On July 9, CBS confirmed two additional surprise Houseguests, continuing the show’s tradition of expecting the unexpected: Survivor alum Rick Devens, and Big Brother returnee Angela Murray. Then, on July 10, Dee Valladares, another Survivor alum (and onetime Survivor winner), was revealed as the third and final surprise Houseguest.
Overall, the cast ranges in age from 22 to 57, and includes contestants from across the United States representing a variety of professions and backgrounds. The Houseguests will compete for the $750,000 grand prize during this summer’s Big Brother: Time Trip-themed season.

Ashley Trail, 24
Hometown: Alton, Illinois
Current city: Chicago, Illinois
Occupation: Bartender
Ashley has been watching the show since she was a little girl, and says she “will win Big Brother because I have $2 to my name and I need to fix that stat.” She is outgoing, social, and ready to lie and manipulate to bring home the grand prize.
Barrett Pfeiffer, 27
Hometown: Benton, Arkansas
Current city: Austin, Texas
Occupation: Jumbotron engineer
The “black sheep of his family,” Barrett grew up with athletic siblings, but leans more into his creative side. Social game is a key for this major Big Brother fan, whose favorite former players include Britney Haynes and Angela Murray. His plan is to lean into his ability to talk to people and catch a ride all the way to the finale.
Chuk Anyanwu, 27
Hometown: Dallas, Texas
Occupation: Supply chain analyst
This Nigerian cowboy grew up in a household full of women – four sisters and his mom – whose raw honesty helped Chuk grow the thickest skin. He’s ready to play a “masterful social game” and take home the grand prize to buy a new pickup truck.
Drew Campbell, 22
Hometown: Temecula, California
Occupation: Surgical dental assistant
This confident young man is ready to go far on Big Brother. Drew admits, “People assume that I’m not very smart because, I mean, I sound like I’m a SoCal bum dude, but I actually graduated college with a summa cum laude.” He’s a big fan of the show, and his strategy for the game is to win some competitions to stay in control.
Haley Thogmartin, 29
Hometown: Neosho, Missouri
Current city: Wildwood, Missouri
Occupation: Telemedicine executive
A super competitive Division I softball player, Haley knows what it’s like to dominate as a ruthless and stubborn pitcher. She says her skills at sports haven’t helped her dating life, as ”men are usually intimidated by me because I am athletic, but I do have a softer side.” When she’s not crushing it on the field, you can find Haley volunteering at a farm grooming horses.
Jason De Puy, 35
Hometown: San Francisco, California
Current city: West Hollywood, California
Occupation: Drag queen
Jason, also known by his drag name Selena, is no stranger to reality shows, having competed on RuPaul’s Drag Race Season 15 and RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars Season 11. Here’s the tea on how he wants to play the game: “My strategy going into the game is really connecting with them as people, although there will be lies and deceptions.”
Kamuela “Kamu” Kirk, 32
Hometown: Phoenix, Arizona
Occupation: MMA fighter
The well-known, professional MMA fighter Kamu, also known as “The Jawaiian”, is ready to take the fight to the Big Brother game. When Kamu is not fighting, training, or coaching at an MMA gym he part-owns, you can find him immersed in his other passion, painting. This competitive player cares more about winning the game than the grand prize, admitting, “money comes and goes; being a Big Brother winner lasts forever.”
LaTrice Verrett, 57
Hometown: Kankakee, Illinois
Current city: Maplewood, New Jersey
Occupation: Boutique salesperson
A bodybuilder and fashion-loving mother of four, LaTrice (also known as Lala) is ready to turn heads with her fierce competitor mentality. She says, “There are a lot of common misconceptions about me because I don’t look my age. I’m 57 turning 58, and I’m in the best motherfreakin’ shape of my life.” This contestant is ready to play hard and take down the competition.
Lyric Medeiros, 25
Hometown: Honolulu, Hawaii
Occupation: Attorney
Lyric is a luau singer, dancer and social media influencer who is as smart as she is bubbly. Lyric graduated from college in three years with a double major and a minor, and she is the youngest to pass the bar in Hawaii at age 23. According to her, “a lot of people underestimate me when they first meet me.” This lawyer is ready to take the players to court.
Mallory Aurichio, 24
Hometown: Township of Washington, New Jersey
Occupation: Rocket scientist
This huge space nerd once worked for NASA and loves a good themed party. Mallory is tough and ready to crush the competition with her athletic ability. She is ready to blast off to the Big Brother house, saying, ”I’m gonna do whatever it takes to win if I have to, so I think that‘s gonna make me a pretty big threat in the game.”
Melody Morris, 24
Hometown: Thornton, Colorado
Current city: Maricopa, Arizona
Occupation: Corporate game show host
Melody has learned to be quick on her feet and control a house at her job as a host, skills she hopes to carry on to the show. She might come off confident now, but Melody had childhood struggles that she worked hard to overcome. She is a huge fan of Big Brother and says “when I am put up against a wall, I always rise to the occasion.”
Rome Seymour, 28
Hometown: Traverse City, Michigan
Current city: Delray Beach, Florida
Occupation: Pickleball coach
This competitive trash talker is already looking for a way to get into his opponent’s head. Rome was the number one tennis player in Northern Michigan during his high school years, played pro for a bit, and then took the leap into the pro pickleball world before turning to coaching. He gives some insight into his personality, saying, “I’m Midwestern hospitality to the core. We hold doors, we say hi, and we’re very nice all the way around.”
Taylor Brown, 27
Hometown: Deerfield Beach, Florida
Occupation: Elementary school counselor
As a counselor, Taylor knows how to put out little fires all day long, but when it comes to Big Brother, her “strategy is to play everybody against each other.” She hopes to find a goal-oriented man in her future and is a big fan of Big Brother Season 14 champ Ian Terry. Taylor is a social butterfly who hopes to win the whole thing.
Yash Patel, 24
Hometown: Monroe Township, New Jersey
Occupation: Financial analyst
“My goal in life is to find a wife,” spills Yash. This player is ready for a showmance and the chance to create chaos in the Big Brother house. The son of an Indian immigrant, Yash cherishes what it really means to create and live life.
Surprise Houseguests
Rick Devens
As previously seen on: Survivor Season 38 (Survivor: Edge of Extinction) and Survivor Season 50 (Survivor 50: In the Hands of the Fans)
Rick Devens is ready to stir up lots of drama in the comfort of an air-conditioned house on Big Brother. This “two-time Survivor loser” is a father and former news anchor who is excited to join the game.
Angela Murray
As previously seen on: The Amazing Race Season 38 and Big Brother Season 26
Angela Murray is ready to take home the grand prize. “Angela is literally ‘expect the unexpected’,” according to fellow houseguest Taylor Brown.
Dee Valladares
As previously seen on: Survivor Season 45 (Survivor 45) and Survivor Season 50 (Survivor 50: In the Hands of the Fans)
Dee is the first Cuban-born person to win Survivor and is a pro at both competitions and the social game. She fits right in in the Big Brother house and wants to be “the first person to win Survivor and Big Brother.”
What to know about the Season 28 cast
This year’s cast includes long-time fans and newbies ranging in age from 22 to 57 from across the country. Some are open to a Big Brother showmance while others are determined not to do anything that could potentially cost them the win. Whether they plan to lean on their social game, competition prowess or a mix of both, each player has their own strategy for winning Big Brother 28. Time will tell if their game plans hold up once they enter the Big Brother house and experience the true meaning of “expect the unexpected.”
The Big Brother Season 28 cast enters a house built around the Big Brother: Time Trip theme, where the season’s twists center on the past, present, and future. CBS says the theme introduces new powers, challenges, and game mechanics throughout the summer.
The Houseguests will compete in a house equipped with 94 HD cameras and 113 microphones that record activity around the clock. Each week, Houseguests compete for safety, coordinate alliances, nominate fellow players for eviction, and vote someone out of the game. Some will be sent home, others will be sent to the jury house to vote for who they think deserves to win it all. The final remaining Houseguest meets Julie Chen-Moonves under a rain of confetti and wins the $750,000 grand prize.
How to watch Season 28 and the live feeds
You can watch Big Brother Season 28 on CBS and Paramount+. Paramount+ Premium subscribers can stream new episodes live as they air on CBS. Episodes become available on demand the following day for both Paramount+ Premium and Paramount+ Essential subscribers.
The Big Brother live feeds are now running. They launched on July 10, during the premiere of Big Brother: Unlocked.
